Support
Help and frequently asked questions for SimpleStep.
Steps Are Not Displayed
In iPhone Settings or the Health app, confirm that SimpleStep is allowed to read step count. Because of iOS privacy protections, the app cannot distinguish between denied access and no available data.
Apple Watch Steps Are Not Included
SimpleStep displays activity recorded by your iPhone only. Apple Watch activity, manual entries, and activity from third-party apps are excluded.
How Distance Is Determined
SimpleStep does not calculate distance from a stride length. It displays Walking + Running Distance recorded by your iPhone in the Health app.
Return to Today
When viewing a past date, tap Today at the top left to return. You can also swipe the main step area horizontally to move between dates.
Move Between Chart Periods
Choose Week, Month, or Year, then swipe the chart horizontally or tap the arrows beside the displayed period.
The App Icon Badge Is Not Updated Immediately
The badge updates when the app launches, returns to the foreground, or receives a HealthKit background update. iOS does not guarantee real-time updates while the app is closed.
Change the Goal or Appearance
Open the gear menu to change the step goal, light or dark appearance, and accent color. Lowering the goal alone does not send a goal notification.
